WHERE TO WORSHIP IN CORPUS CHRISTI
Whether a Sunday visitor or a resident looking for a church home, the Corpus Christi Worship Guide has the information you need to make the right church choice for you and your family. The city’s 200-plus churches, synagogues and temples have a lot to offer anyone and everyone on a spiritual quest. Churches include non-denominational, Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Church of Christ, Lutheran, Episcopalian and more.
Summer visitors, along with residents, can find a number of exciting and spiritually uplifting Vacation Bible Schools to attend.
The information is all right here.
Easter services, including a
Passion Play that has been held for more than 75 years, are featured on this site. The Easter Sunrise Passion Play held in Cole Park each year includes about 100 volunteer actors who tell the story of Christ from birth to death. Churches from
non-denominational and protestant to
Catholic hold Easter egg hunts, live Stations of the Cross and
sunrise services in celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Later in the year, Christmas in Corpus Christi lights up the town with special church services and musical performances, all of which you’ll find here on
101CorpusChristi.com.
Corpus Christi celebrates its spirituality and connection to God year-round with its growing variety of denominations. You’ll also find services on the beach, churches that participate in numerous programs to help the less fortunate and churches and synagogues that promote their culture through festivals.
The Congregation Beth Israel is well-known for its annual
Jewish Food Festival. St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church holds a Greek Festival. Both festivals are in November.
Corpus Christi is also known for its
historic churches. First United Methodist Church, home of the “surfing Jesus” statue, was founded in 1846 and is the city’s oldest church. The statue, which is actually Jesus standing on a small boat commanding the waters, looks out over the bayfront on Shoreline Drive.
The Corpus Christi Worship Guides covers many of the events sponsored by churches across the city, provides information on local churches and keeps users up to date on holiday happenings. Churches are welcome to submit their events on the Worship Guide Calendar on this page.
Enjoy and have a blessed day!
