Space out at Science of the Force in Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History hosts intergalactic event Aug. 28
Immerse yourself in a celebration of science, space, and imagination during Science of the Force, a family-friendly event at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28. With open spaces to wield your lightsaber and undergo Jedi training, the museum’s exhibit halls are the perfect place to explore the outer galaxies.
The out-of-this-world event features stellar shows, space-themed activities, concessions, photo opportunities, and more. Costumes and cosplay appropriate for all ages are encouraged.
Participants can meet Storm Troopers, build a droid or a lightsaber using recycled materials, and pose for the Intergalactic Photo Op. That’s in addition to attending the museum's regular planetarium shows, science shows, and Museum LIVE! Theater.
If you don’t feel like making your own lightsaber, you can purchase one at the event along with food and beverages.
Admission is $10 for museum members and $15 for non-members. Beat the line and pre-purchase tickets online.
Parking at the museum has been moved from the visitor lot to the museum's auxiliary lot at the corner of Hirsch and Chaparral streets, likely through September. Signage has been placed on the street to assist museum patrons. Visit the museum's website for more information.
