CORPUS CHRISTI MALLSCorpus Christi's unique shopping malls and multipurpose shopping centers include La Palmera, Sunrise Mall, and Moore Plaza. All three are located on South Padre Island Drive in the proximity of the Staples Street exit — a shopping mecca with just about every major brand you can think of represented. La Palmera retailers include Macy’s, American Eagle, MAC Cosmetics, Soma Intimates, and Dillard’s, just to name a few. Fuel your shopping or browsing spree at one of the many restaurants such as Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen, Longhorn Steakhouse, Chick-fil-A, and P.F. Chang's.
Across from the indoor mall is the
Shops at La Palmera with Dick’s Sporting Goods, DSW, Home Goods, and more. For food, you’ll find the Corner Bakery, Subway, and Chipotle to name a few.
Just one exit away at Arline Drive, Sunrise Mall was at one time THE shopping destination for residents and visitors alike. The mall has seen better days but still retains some of its old glory as home to Burlington Coat Factory, Sears, and Wilcox Furniture. It is worth the visit for historical reasons as well. It was the location for the filming of “The Legend of Billy Jean.” If you want to get in extra exercise during your visit, Planet Fitness is also a tenant.
Moore Plaza is a strip mall on steroids. A multitude of decisions on where to eat next line the frontage road of South Padre Island Drive, where the mall is located. You’ll find Twin Peaks, TGI Fridays, Jamba Juice, Taiwan Restaurant, Kanto Filipino Barbecue, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and more.
Stores include James Avery Jewelry, Office Depot, PetSmart, Gap Outlet, Half Price Books, Hobby Lobby, Old Navy, Party City, H-E-B Grocery store, Stein Mart, and many more. In fact, 76 stores in all call this bustling shopping center home.
OUTLET MALLS
Many fans of outlet malls consider Corpus Christi a prime location for great bargains on direct deals from top manufacturers.
Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay on U.S. 77 North are the premier factory shops in the area, featuring Brooks Brothers, Nike, Papaya, Skechers, H&M, Zales The Diamond Store, Express, and Francesca's. Grab a snack at Curbside, a food truck pavilion.
