Another mural has popped up in downtown Corpus Christi.
Chris Lain, tattoo artist and owner of Pinnacle Tattoo, recently painted this colorful rooster standing on top of a guitar amplifier at the House of Rock music venue at 511 Starr Street.
Called ‘When the Rooster Crows,’ the design is based on the House of Rock’s logo.
Several more murals are coming to downtown Corpus Christi this summer.
The upcoming CC Street Wave is bringing talented artists from across the state to participate in the city's first-ever mural painting event. Three new murals are planned across downtown.
Barbie Baker, creative consultant for the event, previously worked for Corpus Christi’s Downtown Management District. She has seen the growth and appreciation of downtown art firsthand.
“The ability to put a beautiful, bright and exciting face on these buildings across the city has been amazing,” Baker said. “The community has just embraced it and is craving it.”
