H-E-B Ranked Top Place to Work in U.S.

Indeed.com, one of the top employment placement websites for job seekers, has named H-E-B grocers the best place to work for the third year in a row.
“As the world changes (to online shopping), we wanted to know: which retailers are knocking it out of the park (in brick-and-mortar retail),” reads a company media release about the top 25 retail workplaces in America. “Our data analytics team dove into over 180 million ratings and reviews listed on Indeed Company Pages to determine this year’s Top-Rated Workplaces: Best Retailers.”
Using employer ratings and employee reviews, Indeed looked at how supportive companies were of individual growth and opportunities for advancement.
“H-E-B employees can feel the tight-knit culture and family-oriented values that make if feel like ‘your local grocery store,’” the release further stated about the Texas-based chain.
In 2017, H-E-B was named one off the top grocers in the nation. In 2015, it made employees stockholders and started called them partners, adding benefits and salary incentives. The still family-owned company was founded in 1905 by Florence Butt. The company operates more than 370 stores in Texas and Mexico and has more than 95,000 employee-partners.
In the rating for top employer, three of the top five sustain the supermarket trend that has dominated the list in the past several years. Coming in third behind H-E-B is Costco Wholesale. Ranking fifth is Wegmans, a Minnesota-based grocery chain.
Second place went to Vans shoes and fourth to Nike.
