Jane Kathleen Gregorio is a Sci fi loving, eco-friendly, budget conscious, creative arts DIY dabbler with a quarky sense of humor and a knack for putting people at ease during an interview (facilitating their “spilling of guts”)
She came to the US from the Philippines at age 3 but since then has grown up a “Texas girl.”
Her writing career began at North Garland High School’s student-run paper and continued at San Antonio College where she studied broadcast journalism. In 2005, she graduated with a bachelor's in Business Marketing from the University of the Incarnate Word.
Jane also worked for 9 years at the San Antonio Express News before a major lay off led her to to a different career path in the medical insurance field as customer service call center representative.
Jane’s ability for extracting the “heart of the story” has been honed by her years at the call center asking fact finding questions to help clients troubleshoot issues; and was further sharpened by her role volunteering as a video interviewer for ‘Stories of Faith’ on incmedia.org (a Christian television website)
Her prior work stints also include college radio deejay for KSYM 90.1FM San Antonio and licensed realtor during a 2 year stay in Hawaii.
Her passion for “origin stories” makes her a natural fit for her current role as a freelance writer for CCBN depicting how local business owners in Corpus Christi got their start.
During her free time, she helps coordinate community service projects for her church and sings in the choir.
Her hobbies include playing violin, travelling, food exploration, painting, watching videos about interior decorating in tiny houses and binge reading audio books by the earful.
Today Jane Kathleen Gregorio lives in Corpus Christi, enjoying the sunny coast and working from home full time as a medical insurance coordinator while freelancing as a journalist part time. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
