Christmas Around the Coastal Bend

Small towns throughout the Coastal Bend are filled with exciting family-friendly events, from Port Aransas to Portland.


“Be A PALL” Holiday Party

7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25

Robert’s Point Bark & Treasure Island, 301 J.C. Barr Blvd.

Thrown by Port A Low Life, this event benefits hurricane victims in the community.

Join the cause and volunteer: the event begins at 7:30 a.m. at Robert’s Point Park. Join other volunteers to organize supplies to help Hurricane Harvey victims clean up and rebuild.

After a day of volunteering, join the party at 4:30 p.m. at Treasure Island Bar for free BBQ from Kreuz Market, beverages, and live music by Two Tons of Steel.

Volunteers receive free attendance, but anyone can join with $20 donation to EMS Toy Roundup.

Island Holiday Market

10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2

Port Aransas Art Center, 710 W. Avenue A

Pick out your Christmas gifts at the second annual Island Holiday Market. Held indoors at the Port Aransas Art Center, this event will be filled with local vendors, artists and fine craftsmen.

Port Aransas Christmas Tree Lighting

6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7

Port Aransas Community Center, 408 N. Alister St.

Join the fun at the Port Aransas Christmas Tree Lighting at the Port Aransas Community Center. Enjoy live music, food, youth choirs, and more. Santa Claus will be making an appearance! Admission is free.

The Polar Express Drive-In Movie

6:30-8:30 p.m, Tuesday, Dec. 12

Port Aransas Community Center, 408 N. Alister St.

Free cocoa and snacks will be provided at this old-fashioned drive-in showing of The Polar Express. Free to attend and fun for the whole family!

Enchanted Holiday Forest

8 a.m.-5 p.m., Dec. 15-22

Port Aransas Community Center, 408 N. Alister St.

Stroll through the Enchanted Holiday Forest inside the Port Aransas Community Center. Or participate by decorating a tree! The forest is free to visit and open Monday through Friday.


Saltwater Christmas Illuminated Parade

6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec.1

AP Chamber of Commerce, 911 S Commercial St.

Watch the Saltwater Christmas Parade, take pictures with Santa and enter to win a bike giveaway!

Event is free to attend.


Rockport Tropical Christmas

10 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2

Downtown Heritage District, Rockport Harbor.

Santa vacations in Rockport for a tropical Christmas. Enjoy a full day of live entertaiment and free, family friendly activities such as birding seminars, a pet costume contest, a Christmas tree decorating contest, children’s ornament workshop, illuminated land parade and more. The night will end with a beautiful fireworks show!

Christmas Tour of Historic Homes

1-5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2-3

Tour seven historic homes across Rockport-Fulton, led by docents in vintage dress. Each home is decorated for the holidays!

Historical facts about the homes and their owners will connect the visitors to the real history of these local treasures.

Admission is $15 for one ticket; $12.50 each for two or more. Tickets will be available at each of the homes along the tour.

Holiday Symphony by the Sea

2-4 p.m, Sunday, Dec. 10

Fulton Mansion State Historic Site, 317 Fulton Beach Rd.

Rockport-Fulton High School Choir joins forces with the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra to present the Holiday Symphony by the Sea.

The concert will take place on the lawn of the Fulton Mansion. It is free to attend as is Aransas County ISD Education Foundation’s gift to the community.

There will be chairs available, but they are first-come, first-served, so bring your lawn chair or blanket to ensure that you have seating on the lawn.

Christmas in Fulton

5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14-15

Fulton Harbor Park, 402 N. Fulton Beach

Join an old fashioned Christmas in Fulton at Fulton Harbor Park. The two-day event opens with a speach from Mayor Jimmy Kendrick. Both days are filled with live entertainment, treats, door prizes and more.

Santa Claus joins the party Dec. 15, so be prepared for photos!


Portland Parade of Lights

6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4

Watch the illuminated parade through the Portland community. Santa Claus will have his own float! Parade is free to attend.

14th Annual Christmas Celebration

Saturday, Dec. 9 from 5:30-8 p.m.

Join the festivities at Portland’s annual Christmas celebration! Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Frosty the Snowman will be attending this family friendly event as well, so bring your camera and be prepared for photo opportunities.

The kids can take part in activities such as crafts, face painting, hayrides, Christmas bingo, carnival games and more.

Bring a new, unwrapped to to donate to Christmas for Kids Year Round.

The event is free to attend.


10 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16

Kaiah Dog Park, 1001 Moore Ave.

Bring your dog to the Kaiah Dog Park for a photo session with Santa Claus and his elves.

Bring a donation of dog food for Portland Animal Control and Last Chance Rescue.

Thrown by the City of Portland Parks and Recreation, the event runs from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.


Ingleside Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

6-9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1

N.O. Simmons Skate Park, TX 361 and Ave. J

Join the town of Ingleside as they light up their Christmas tree to kick off the holidays! Held at N.O. Simmons Park, the event is free to attend.

Grab a cup of hot chocolate and join in on the family friendly activities from face painting and balloon clowns to hay rides and bounce houses. Don’t forget to have a photo session with Santa Claus!


Old Fashioned Christmas Market

3-10 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7

Jackson Square, Corner of W. Sinton and S. McCall Ave.

Explore the market in Jackson Square to get some Christmas shopping out of the way.

Sinton Illuminated Christmas Parade

7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7

Downtown Sinton

Starting at 7 p.m., the illuminated night parade is a sight to see with a special appearance from Santa Claus. Free to attend.
